This week’s sports news and what to watch this weekend

NBA Playoffs

The Boston Celtics complete the gentlemen sweep over the Cleveland Cavaliers 4-1 to advance to the Eastern Conference Finals. The NY Knicks lead the series 3-2 and have a chance to join Boston with a win tonight against the Indiana Pacers. The Dallas Mavericks lead 3-2 over the Oklahoma City Thunder with a chance to close the series on Saturday in Dallas. The Minnesota Timberwolves completely destroyed the Denver Nuggets (115-70) in Game 6 to force a Game 7 in Denver on Sunday. Don’t be so quick to write Denver off after that performance, it should be a battle to end the series.

NHL Playoffs

The NY Rangers win the series 4-2 over the Carolina Hurricanes to advance to the Eastern Conference Final. The Florida Panthers, up 3-2, will try to end the series tonight against the Boston Bruins for Game 6. Dallas Stars lead the series 3-2 over the Colorado Avalanche and will look to steal another in Denver tonight to end the series. Vancouver Canucks lead 3-2 over the Edmonton Oilers who will hope to get a home win on Saturday to even the series.

Dallas Stars’ Wyatt Johnston makes an elite list of players with playoff goals before their 21st birthday. He made it on the eve of his 21st.

The NFL schedule has been released with 4 international games.
