Good morning people! What started out as a bare weekend of sports delivered in a big way. Enjoy a quick update of this weekend’s events and enjoy doing the bare minimum at work today, you deserve it.

This week’s updates:

NBA

  • NBA Finals - Miami Heat vs. Denver Nuggets: The Heat aren’t cooked yet as they steal a thrilling win in Denver in Game 2 last night. The Nuggets had a shot at the buzzer to tie but Miami holds onto a 111-108 victory and the series is tied 1-1 heading into South Florida | Game 3 on Wednesday @8:30pm ET on ABC

  • The NBA has nearly concluded their investigation into Ja Morant and will plan to release its finding after the NBA Finals. Ja was caught on Instagram live wielding a gun for the second time a couple of weeks ago

NHL

  • Stanley Cup Finals - Vegas Golden Knights vs. Florida Panthers: Vegas comes back from a 2-1 deficit to take game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals in a 5-2 victory and their ninth comeback win of the playoffs. Things got a little bit chippy at the end of the game; so Game 2 will be a must-watch | Game 2 tonight @ 8pm ET on TNT

  • Teams that have won Game 1 at home in the Stanley Cup finals have gone on to win the series a staggering 83% of the time. Not looking great for the meow meows

MLB

  • The Tampa Bay Rays remain #1 and are the fastest team to 40 wins. However, the Arizona Diamondbacks are the newest girl in school and had are red-hot with a 18-9 record in their last 27 games

  • There has been much debate recently to whether or not it is legal to relay signs to a teammate if the pitcher tipping his pitches. The TikTok below is a masterclass example of how to execute pitch-tipping legally

NFL

  • Tom Brady purchases a minority share in the Las Vegas Raiders, though there have been reports that it’s a larger share than people thought initially.

  • Kansas City Chiefs superfan, Chiefaholic, has landed on The Most Wanted list. For those that don’t know, Chiefaholic (a full grown man), dresses up as a werewolf for each Chiefs game. It seems to be working because the Chiefs are unstoppable over the past few years. What didn't work was his attempted bank robbery which landed him on house arrest in the first place.

GOLF

  • PGA Tour Memorial Tournament: Rory McIlroy held the lead going into the final round yesterday but dropped 3 strokes leaving the door wide open for the Norwegian, Viktor Hovland to snag the victory in a playoff hole vs. Denny McCarthy. Hovland notches his 4th PGA Tour win and a cool $3.6 million in prize money.

OTHER SPORTS & STUFF

  • UFC - Kara-France vs. Albazi: For a majority of the fight it seemed like Kara-France would be a unanimous victor with the quality and quantity of strike. Ultimately the judges favored in Albazi’s favor with a split decision

  • French Open: 19 year-old American, Coco Gauff, moves closer to a rematch vs. Iga Swiatek and a chance for redemption from her loss last year. No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz and No. 3 Novak Djokovic and still on a collision course for a semi-final match up. upcoming
