Just the hits. Top sports news from this week + a weekend preview of what to watch

Happy Friday yet again. After a short but thoughtful hiatus, we are all back to work, unless you are an ESPN analyst.

Here’s this weeks recap and a preview of what’s to come this weekend. Enjoy.

MLB

  • The Atlanta Braves were on fire in June. They hit 61 home runs as a team, which is the most of any NL team in any month in MLB history. They remain the favorites to win the World Series

  • Speaking of favorites, based on the results of the poll last week, the readers think the Tampa Rays will win the World Series. I’ll give you one more week to change your mind or double down.
