MLB

  • New York Yankee’s pitcher, Domingo Germán (aka Sunday Schnitzel), throws a perfect game for the 24th time in MLB history. For reference, there have been around 235,500 games played in MLB history and only 24 have been perfect, meaning no hits or walks allowed

  • We’re halfway through the MLB Season so let’s do a check in on stat leaders, league standings and odds to win the World Series

NHL

  • NHL Draft: The Chicago Blackhawks select Connor Bedard as the first overall pick. No surprise here as Bedard is the most hyped prospect since Connor McDavid in 2015.

NBA

  • The NBA’s new stars make their first showing in the NBA Summer League starting today through Thursday.

NFL

  • Ex-NFL quarterback, Ryan Mallett, dies of apparent drowning at a beach in Florida due to rip currents.

  • There is a growing list of NFL players being suspended for the upcoming season due to league gambling rules.

OTHER SPORTS

  • College Baseball World Series - LSU Tigers are National Champs after defeating the Florida Gators 18-4. After getting blown out in Game 2, LSU went up 6-0 early and never let off the gas. LSU’s centerfielder, Dylan Crews, is likely to go #1 overall in the MLB draft next week.
