Monday November 6
Happy Monday - A wild weekend of football, but there’s definitely other sports news to cover. Minimally of course.
NFL
If you remember Friday’s newsletter, Josh Dobbs was recently traded from Arizona to the Minnesota Vikings to replace, or help replace, injured Kirk Cousins. He took over after the starting QB was injured and led the Vikings to a thrilling win on the Falcons. He did this without knowing the playbook, and didn’t know many of the offensive players names yet
Josh Dobbs is HIM.

The most entertaining game of the weekend belongs to the Houston Texans. Not only did their rookie QB, CJ Stroud, break an NFL rookie record - but they were forced to have their running back Dare Ogunbawale step in as their kicker with an injury to the starter, Kai Fairbairn. Ogunbawale nailed a go-ahead 29 yarder in the fourth quarter

The San Jose Sharks already made unwanted NHL history, letting up 10+ goals in back to back games. Now they are 6 games away from breaking a record for most consecutive games without a win. They are 0-9-1 with games against the Flyers, Oilers, Ducks, Panthers and Blues coming up
NHL Power Rankings: Believe it or not we’re halfway through the football season, so let’s start getting your hockey knowledge up with the power rankings so far
NBA
The NBA In-season Tournament is underway. The first edition of the tournament is taking some getting used to, but ultimately the NBA is trying to provide more incentives for players to play throughout the season instead of resting up for the playoffs. Players can even get a payout the farther their team goes.
Players on a team that loses in the quarterfinals: $50,000
Players on a team that loses in the semifinals: $100,000
Players on a team that loses in the championship: $200,000
Players on a team that wins the championship: $500,000
The most talked about part of the tournament so far, the courts. The bold, colorful courts make it tough to watch on TV
