• Sad news to wake up to this morning as 50 year-old, Bartolo “Big Sexy” Colon retires from the MLB. He’s been out of the league for 5+ years but I guess he decided to retire now? Either way here’s some of his best highlights (including his 1 career home run)

• We've still got a few weeks of 2023 MLB action left, but your Atlanta Braves have locked in a playoff spot and snagged the NL East title as well. The LA Dodgers are keeping up, snagging the NL west title and the Baltimore Orioles and Tampa Rays also clinched playoff berths. Still in the race for wild-card spots, Seattle, Philadelphia and Chicago

NHL

• Weird story out of Columbus with Blue Jackets coach, Mike Babcock, resigning before even coaching a single game for the team. An NHL investigation took place after allegations came to light on the Spittin’ Chiclets podcast that Babcock was violating players privacy by forcing them to Airplay their phone’s camera rolls to the big screen. It’s an odd story and Babcock and the team originally said it was blown out of proportion. Then he resigned 2-3 days later — so it must have been proportionate enough for the team to make a change
